In the summer of 1997, our fearless leader, CEO Ed Schipul, was working for a petrochemical company as a workstation analyst and putting together a plan to start his own company.

With three Microsoft Certifications to his name and three years of experience building web sites on nights and weekends, Ed believed his professional and technical background had uniquely prepared him to pursue web design on a full-time basis.

With the support of his fabulous wife Rachel, Ed made it through some ups and downs with potential investors - finally deciding to bootstrap it and make his dreams come true of opening his own shop.

He made his first sale, a well-respected car dealership's website, working from his living room and frequently making cold calls for new business.  Businesses were still years away from incorporating web sites into their marketing strategy, so Ed said yes to work like printer repair and network configuration to keep things flowing.
