John-Michael (aka JMO) first joined Schipul in 2009 after leaving Accenture in New York, NY. He began in the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) department and leaned the skills for Natural SEO, Pay Per Click Ad Management, and Content Optimization.
In 2010, he took the official role of Product Manager for Tendenci, the CMS for non-profits. He led the team in the direction of the product by meeting with clients, discussing feature options and deadlines with the programming team, and working with the CEO to implement Tendenci's features with Django.
In 2011, JMO moved into management as the Programming Team Manager, and began committing code to the Tendenci project. He managed a varying team of 2-6 people both in and out of the office, and worked with Support, Client, Sales, and Marketing teams to develop pricing and new features for Tendenci.
In 2012, the team took Tendenci open source. John-Michael continued to bring on new resources to the team. He also led the team to support the product on Heroku, and new server infrastructure. Through this process, the team brought Tendenci up to Django 1.4, the current major version of the framework.
